Someone tagged “RIP” across a fence at Bryn Mawr Ocean Resort in St. Johns County, FL. We saw it. We filed it. Because broken windows lead to broken blocks, and that’s not how neighborhoods thrive.

Something’s Off in Your Neighborhood? SNITCH It.
New watchdog service quietly launches in St. Augustine. Here’s why it matters.

Ever seen a busted fence, a yard full of trash, or an illegal Airbnb down the block and thought, “someone should say something”?
Now you can, without risking a neighborhood feud.
Welcome to SNITCH, the civic-tech watchdog now launching in St. Augustine. We help you report local code violations the smart way: legally, and without your name on the public filing.
Florida Made It Risky to Speak Up. We Changed That.
In 2021, lawmakers passed SB 60, which banned anonymous code complaints. Sounds reasonable, right?
Here’s the catch. Now when you report a violation, your name goes on the public record, where the property owner can pull it. That scared good people into silence while bad actors kept right on trashing their streets.
SNITCH restores the balance. You give us the details. We file the complaint under our own name as the complainant of record, so a public-records request returns us, not you. Your name stays off the filing. That reduces your exposure; how much depends on your municipality, and we’re straight with you about that up front.
What We Handle
- Junk piles, overgrown lots
- Sidewalks blocked by construction
- Short-term rentals gone wild
- Unsafe conditions the city hasn’t addressed
- If it breaks the local code, we’ll report it
BONUS TOOL: Joe Fix It
Not everything is a code violation. Sometimes the city just dropped the ball. That’s where Joe Fix It comes in. Use it to flag potholes, busted streetlights, broken crosswalks, and missing signs, the stuff cities forget but you deal with every day.
SNITCH fights blight. Joe Fix It flags city maintenance. Same mission, different tools.
How It Works
- You send us the details and any photos.
- We confirm the jurisdiction accepts an agent-filed complaint, and vet your submission.
- We file it under our own name as the complainant of record.
- Your name stays off the filing.
Who’s Behind This?
I’m Chaz Stevens: serial entrepreneur, First Amendment troublemaker, and the activist whose book-challenge filings pushed Florida to scale back its 2022 book-challenge law in 2024. I’ve built platforms that sold 60,000 cars, moved $100 million in boat loans, and helped 40,000 clients with mental health law. SNITCH is my latest mission: clean up Florida neighborhoods without the drama.
Not Just Snitching, Smart Snitching
We don’t file junk, and we don’t let trolls run the show. Every report gets reviewed by a real person (and soon, AI backed by retired code officers). If it’s a legitimate violation, we file. If it’s a grudge or it’s baseless, we decline it. No spam, no revenge games, just real results.
St. Augustine Deserves Better
This city’s too historic to let fall apart, but too many locals stay quiet, afraid to be “that neighbor.” SNITCH gives you a way to report without the blowback. Let us be the name on the filing. You take back your block.
Ready When You Are
Got something ugly down the street? Don’t just gripe. SNITCH it.
