Jacksonville and Duval County code enforcement complaints
One consolidated desk. Not your name.
Jacksonville and Duval County consolidated in 1968, so there is no separate Duval County code enforcement office. For most Duval addresses, complaints go to the City's Municipal Code Compliance Division (MCCD) in the Neighborhoods Department.
SNITCH is a private filing service, not the City. We file with MCCD as complainant of record. Your name stays off the complaint.
Florida's SB 60 Did Not End Jacksonville Complaints.
Filed with MCCD under our name, not yours.
Fear of Retaliation
File through MyJax or 630-CITY and the complaint carries your name and address. That record is public under Chapter 119. Your neighbor can request it.
Who Handles It
Most of Duval: the City’s Municipal Code Compliance Division. Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, and Baldwin run their own code enforcement. The address decides.
Agent Filing Rules
We file under our name with the desk that owns the address. If that shop bounces a third-party complainant, that filing does not sit there.

"SNITCH cuts through red tape—handling your code complaints professionally, safely, and always in compliance with Florida law.
- Chaz Stevens, Chief Snitch
We file the real ones.
We reject the rest.

Consolidated. Not a grudge.
Every submission is checked against the Jacksonville Ordinance Code, including Chapter 518, the Property Safety and Maintenance Code. Hearsay, neighbor wars, and junk filings do not go out. A false complaint is on the client.
MCCD says its most frequent citations are junk vehicles, trash, overgrown vegetation, dead trees, and neglected swimming pools.
Renting in Duval and the landlord won't fix it?
Jacksonville's Chapter 518 property maintenance code applies to rentals. File through MyJax and your name sits on a public record your landlord can request under Chapter 119. Florida Statute 83.64 bars a landlord from evicting you in retaliation for complaining to a government agency — but it doesn't stop them from learning who complained. SNITCH files as complainant of record. The landlord sees our name, not yours.
FL SB 60
Why It Matters
SB 60 DID NOT END JACKSONVILLE COMPLAINTS
Florida law requires a name and address before most code investigations start. File direct through MyJax and that name sits on a public record. SNITCH files with MCCD as complainant of record.
Compliant filing. Our name on the paper.
See something. File it without becoming the file.

FAQS
Who handles code enforcement in Jacksonville?
The City of Jacksonville Municipal Code Compliance Division, part of the Neighborhoods Department. Complaints go through MyJax online or by phone at (904) 630-CITY (2489). The division office is (904) 255-7000.
Is Duval County code enforcement separate from Jacksonville?
No. The city and county are consolidated, so MCCD covers most of Duval County. Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, and Baldwin kept their own governments and handle their own code complaints.
Can I report a code violation in Jacksonville anonymously?
Not to the city. Since July 2021, Florida law requires a complainant’s name and address before most code investigations. SNITCH is not anonymous either: we file under our own name as complainant of record, so yours stays off the complaint.
What happens after a Jacksonville code complaint?
An inspector checks the property. Cases that are not corrected go to the Municipal Code Enforcement Board, heard by a Special Magistrate who can set compliance deadlines and fines of up to $250 a day.
Is my name on the complaint? What if a desk will not take an agent filing? Our FAQs answer both.
