Miami code enforcement complaints

City desk. Not Miami-Dade County.

Inside city limits, Miami code complaints go to the City’s Department of Code Compliance.

SNITCH is a private filing service, not the City. We file as complainant of record. Your name stays off the complaint.

Compliant with Florida SB 60.
Filed with Miami Department of Code Compliance under our name.

Fear of Retaliation

Miami puts it this way: “The acceptance of anonymous complaints is prohibited.” File it yourself and that record is public under Chapter 119.

Who Handles It

Inside Miami: Miami Department of Code Compliance. Unincorporated Miami-Dade: Miami-Dade County Neighborhood Regulations Division. Other cities run their own desks.

Agent Filing Rules

We file under our name with the desk that owns the address. If that shop bounces a third-party complainant, that filing does not sit there.

How It Works

Address first. Miami or Miami-Dade County second. Then we file.
How This Works

"SNITCH cuts through red tape—handling your code complaints professionally, safely, and always in compliance with Florida law.
- Chaz Stevens, Chief Snitch

We file the real ones.
We reject the rest.

City code. Not a grudge.

Every submission is checked against the Miami code, including Chapter 2, Article X, Code Enforcement. Hearsay, neighbor wars, and junk filings do not go out. A false complaint is on the client.

Issues Miami highlights: noise complaints (after-hours hotline), illegal residential uses and units, abandoned or unsafe properties, and Certificate of Use and Business Tax Receipt compliance.

FL SB 60

Why It Matters

SB 60 DID NOT END MIAMI COMPLAINTS

Florida law requires a name and address before most code investigations start. File direct with Miami Department of Code Compliance and that name is public. SNITCH files as complainant of record.

Compliant filing. Our name on the paper.

See something. File it without becoming the file.

FAQS

Who handles code enforcement in Miami?

The City of Miami Department of Code Compliance. Call (305) 416-2087. Online, use Miami-Dade 311 portal / 311Direct app. Email: codecompliance@miamigov.com.

Is my address Miami or Miami-Dade County?

Miami handles addresses inside its city limits. Unincorporated Miami-Dade goes to Miami-Dade County Neighborhood Regulations Division at (786) 315-2552. A Miami mailing address is not always inside the city.

Who do I call about a noise violation in the City of Miami at night?

Outside business hours, call the Code Compliance after-hours hotline at (786) 457-0995. The department aims to respond to noise complaints within 30 minutes.

Can I report a code violation in Miami anonymously?

Not to the city. Miami says: “The acceptance of anonymous complaints is prohibited.” SNITCH is not anonymous either: we file under our own name as complainant of record, so yours stays off the complaint.

What happens if a violation is not fixed?

Unresolved Miami code cases go before a Code Enforcement Board or a Special Magistrate. The Code Enforcement Board, made up of volunteers appointed by the City Commission, adjudicates code violations and is the only body that can mitigate fines; Special Magistrates also hear cases.

Is my name on the complaint? What if a desk will not take an agent filing? Our FAQs answer both.
