Miami Beach code enforcement complaints
City desk. Not Miami-Dade County.
Inside city limits, Miami Beach code complaints go to the City’s Code Compliance Department.
SNITCH is a private filing service, not the City. We file as complainant of record. Your name stays off the complaint.
Compliant with Florida SB 60.
Filed with Miami Beach Code Compliance under our name.
Fear of Retaliation
Miami Beach puts it this way: “For all Code Compliance issues, a name and address of the person who reports potential violations of codes and ordinances is required per State Bill 60.” File it yourself and that record is public under Chapter 119.
Who Handles It
Inside Miami Beach: Miami Beach Code Compliance. Unincorporated Miami-Dade: Miami-Dade County Neighborhood Regulations Division. Other cities run their own desks.
Agent Filing Rules
We file under our name with the desk that owns the address. If that shop bounces a third-party complainant, that filing does not sit there.
How It Works

"SNITCH cuts through red tape—handling your code complaints professionally, safely, and always in compliance with Florida law.
- Chaz Stevens, Chief Snitch
We file the real ones.
We reject the rest.

City code. Not a grudge.
Every submission is checked against the Miami Beach code, including Chapter 30, Code Enforcement. Hearsay, neighbor wars, and junk filings do not go out. A false complaint is on the client.
Issues Miami Beach highlights: short-term rentals in residential areas, noise, marine code (vessels, docks, derelict boats), and rent increase notice ordinance.
FL SB 60
Why It Matters
SB 60 DID NOT END MIAMI BEACH COMPLAINTS
Florida law requires a name and address before most code investigations start. File direct with Miami Beach Code Compliance and that name is public. SNITCH files as complainant of record.
Compliant filing. Our name on the paper.
See something. File it without becoming the file.

FAQS
Who handles code enforcement in Miami Beach?
The City of Miami Beach Code Compliance Department. Call (305) 604-2489. Online, use Report a Violation (e-Gov).
Is my address Miami Beach or Miami-Dade County?
Miami Beach handles addresses inside its city limits. Unincorporated Miami-Dade goes to Miami-Dade County Neighborhood Regulations Division at (786) 315-2552. A Miami Beach mailing address is not always inside the city.
How do I look up a Miami Beach code violation?
Use Check Violations (EnerGov Self Service, cases after 4/27/2016) on the City’s website.
Are short-term rentals allowed in Miami Beach?
City land development regulations (Sec. 142-1111) prohibit rentals of less than six months and one day in single-family homes and in multifamily buildings in certain areas of the city. If a unit is found operating illegally, guests are evicted and the owner is fined.
Can I report a code violation in Miami Beach anonymously?
Not to the city. Miami Beach says: “For all Code Compliance issues, a name and address of the person who reports potential violations of codes and ordinances is required per State Bill 60.” SNITCH is not anonymous either: we file under our own name as complainant of record, so yours stays off the complaint.
What happens if a violation is not fixed?
Unresolved Miami Beach code cases go before a Special Magistrate. Appeals go to the Special Magistrate, which has met in person in the Third Floor Commission Chamber at City Hall since May 2, 2024; request a hearing through the City Clerk ($140 fee, refunded if you prevail).
Is my name on the complaint? What if a desk will not take an agent filing? Our FAQs answer both.
