Sanford code enforcement complaints

City desk. Not Seminole County.

Inside city limits, Sanford code complaints go to the City’s Code Enforcement Division in the Development Services Department.

SNITCH is a private filing service, not the City. We file as complainant of record. Your name stays off the complaint.

Compliant with Florida SB 60.
Filed with Sanford Code Enforcement under our name.

Fear of Retaliation

File direct with Sanford Code Enforcement and Florida law puts your name and address on the complaint. That record is public under Chapter 119.

Who Handles It

Inside Sanford: Sanford Code Enforcement. Unincorporated Seminole: Seminole County Code Enforcement Division (Development Services Department). Other cities run their own desks.

Agent Filing Rules

We file under our name with the desk that owns the address. If that shop bounces a third-party complainant, that filing does not sit there.

How It Works

Address first. Sanford or Seminole County second. Then we file.
How This Works

"SNITCH cuts through red tape—handling your code complaints professionally, safely, and always in compliance with Florida law.
- Chaz Stevens, Chief Snitch

We file the real ones.
We reject the rest.

City code. Not a grudge.

Every submission is checked against the Sanford code, including Chapter 26, Code Enforcement. Hearsay, neighbor wars, and junk filings do not go out. A false complaint is on the client.

Issues Sanford highlights: no parking between curb and sidewalk or in front/side yards, unlicensed or inoperable vehicles must be in a garage, grass over 12 inches, including alleys, and Historic District certificate of appropriateness.

FL SB 60

Why It Matters

SB 60 DID NOT END SANFORD COMPLAINTS

Florida law requires a name and address before most code investigations start. File direct with Sanford Code Enforcement and that name is public. SNITCH files as complainant of record.

Compliant filing. Our name on the paper.

See something. File it without becoming the file.

FAQS

Who handles code enforcement in Sanford?

The City of Sanford Code Enforcement Division, part of the Development Services Department. Call (407) 688-5163. Online, use CitizenServe (City of Sanford Online Portal).

Is my address Sanford or Seminole County?

Sanford handles addresses inside its city limits. Unincorporated Seminole goes to Seminole County Code Enforcement Division (Development Services Department) at (407) 665-0000. A Sanford mailing address is not always inside the city.

Can I park my car between the curb and sidewalk in Sanford?

No. Parking between the curb and sidewalk, or on or across a sidewalk, is illegal, and vehicles cannot be parked in front or side yards except on a permitted driveway.

Can I report a code violation in Sanford anonymously?

Not to the city. Since July 2021, Florida law requires a complainant’s name and address before most code investigations. SNITCH is not anonymous either: we file under our own name as complainant of record, so yours stays off the complaint.

What happens if a violation is not fixed?

Unresolved Sanford code cases go before a Special Magistrate. Special Magistrate hearings are held every second Wednesday of the month at 9 a.m. in the City Commission Chambers.

Is my name on the complaint? What if a desk will not take an agent filing? Our FAQs answer both.
