Bartow code enforcement complaints

City desk. Not Polk County.

Inside city limits, Bartow code complaints go to the City’s Code Compliance & Neighborhood Services.

SNITCH is a private filing service, not the City. We file as complainant of record. Your name stays off the complaint.

Compliant with Florida SB 60.
Filed with Bartow Code Compliance & Neighborhood Services under our name.

Fear of Retaliation

File direct with Bartow Code Compliance & Neighborhood Services and Florida law puts your name and address on the complaint. That record is public under Chapter 119.

Who Handles It

Inside Bartow: Bartow Code Compliance & Neighborhood Services. Unincorporated Polk: Polk County Code Enforcement. Other cities run their own desks.

Agent Filing Rules

We file under our name with the desk that owns the address. If that shop bounces a third-party complainant, that filing does not sit there.

How It Works

Address first. Bartow or Polk County second. Then we file.
How This Works

"SNITCH cuts through red tape—handling your code complaints professionally, safely, and always in compliance with Florida law.
- Chaz Stevens, Chief Snitch

We file the real ones.
We reject the rest.

City code. Not a grudge.

Every submission is checked against the Bartow code, including Chapter 29, Code Enforcement Options Ordinance of 2016. Hearsay, neighbor wars, and junk filings do not go out. A false complaint is on the client.

Issues Bartow highlights: Capital City Clean-Up neighborhood beautification initiative, grass and weeds over 12 inches, inoperable or unlicensed vehicles, and outdoor storage of appliances and furniture.

FL SB 60

Why It Matters

SB 60 DID NOT END BARTOW COMPLAINTS

Florida law requires a name and address before most code investigations start. File direct with Bartow Code Compliance & Neighborhood Services and that name is public. SNITCH files as complainant of record.

Compliant filing. Our name on the paper.

See something. File it without becoming the file.

FAQS

Who handles code enforcement in Bartow?

The City of Bartow Code Compliance & Neighborhood Services. Online, use SeeClickFix / MyBartow app. Email: codeenforcement@cityofbartow.net.

Is my address Bartow or Polk County?

Bartow handles addresses inside its city limits. Unincorporated Polk goes to Polk County Code Enforcement at (863) 534-6054. A Bartow mailing address is not always inside the city.

Where can I park a boat or RV at my house in Bartow?

The city says boats and RVs may be stored on a paved driveway or in a side or rear yard, at least 5 feet from property lines. Non-recreational trucks, trailers and wagons may not be parked overnight except in an enclosed garage.

Can I report a code violation in Bartow anonymously?

Not to the city. Since July 2021, Florida law requires a complainant’s name and address before most code investigations. SNITCH is not anonymous either: we file under our own name as complainant of record, so yours stays off the complaint.

What happens if a violation is not fixed?

Unresolved Bartow code cases go before a Special Magistrate. Code Enforcement Special Magistrate hearings are held at 9 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall, 450 N. Wilson Ave.

Is my name on the complaint? What if a desk will not take an agent filing? Our FAQs answer both.
