Homestead code enforcement complaints
City desk. Not Miami-Dade County.
Inside city limits, Homestead code complaints go to the City’s Code Compliance Department.
SNITCH is a private filing service, not the City. We file as complainant of record. Your name stays off the complaint.
Compliant with Florida SB 60.
Filed with Homestead Code Compliance under our name.
Fear of Retaliation
Homestead puts it this way: “Full name and address are required for reports related to code compliance. Anonymous reports will not be investigated.” File it yourself and that record is public under Chapter 119.
Who Handles It
Inside Homestead: Homestead Code Compliance. Unincorporated Miami-Dade: Miami-Dade County Neighborhood Regulations Division. Other cities run their own desks.
Agent Filing Rules
We file under our name with the desk that owns the address. If that shop bounces a third-party complainant, that filing does not sit there.

"SNITCH cuts through red tape—handling your code complaints professionally, safely, and always in compliance with Florida law.
- Chaz Stevens, Chief Snitch
We file the real ones.
We reject the rest.

City code. Not a grudge.
Every submission is checked against the Homestead code, including Chapter 7, Code Compliance. Hearsay, neighbor wars, and junk filings do not go out. A false complaint is on the client.
Issues Homestead highlights: garbage and bulk trash set out too early, fences and construction without a permit, operating without a Business Tax Receipt, and vacant property registry.
FL SB 60
Why It Matters
SB 60 DID NOT END HOMESTEAD COMPLAINTS
Florida law requires a name and address before most code investigations start. File direct with Homestead Code Compliance and that name is public. SNITCH files as complainant of record.
Compliant filing. Our name on the paper.
See something. File it without becoming the file.

FAQS
Who handles code enforcement in Homestead?
The City of Homestead Code Compliance Department. Call (305) 224-5580. Online, use Fix it! Homestead (SeeClickFix). Email: Code@homesteadfl.gov.
Is my address Homestead or Miami-Dade County?
Homestead handles addresses inside its city limits. Unincorporated Miami-Dade goes to Miami-Dade County Neighborhood Regulations Division at (786) 315-2552. A Homestead mailing address is not always inside the city.
How tall can grass get before it is a code violation in Homestead?
Grass may not be taller than 8 inches on developed property or more than 12 inches on vacant land, and lots must be kept free of litter and debris.
Can I report a code violation in Homestead anonymously?
Not to the city. Homestead says: “Full name and address are required for reports related to code compliance. Anonymous reports will not be investigated.” SNITCH is not anonymous either: we file under our own name as complainant of record, so yours stays off the complaint.
What happens if a violation is not fixed?
Unresolved Homestead code cases go before a Special Magistrate. Special Magistrate hearings start at 2 p.m. and are held about every two weeks; dates are posted on the city's Hearing Dates page.
Is my name on the complaint? What if a desk will not take an agent filing? Our FAQs answer both.
