Hollywood code enforcement complaints

City desk. Not Broward County.

Inside city limits, Hollywood code complaints go to the City’s Code Compliance.

SNITCH is a private filing service, not the City. We file as complainant of record. Your name stays off the complaint.

Compliant with Florida SB 60.
Filed with Hollywood Code Compliance under our name.

Fear of Retaliation

Hollywood puts it this way: “In compliance with Florida law, complainants will be required to provide their name and address when filing a complaint.” File it yourself and that record is public under Chapter 119.

Who Handles It

Inside Hollywood: Hollywood Code Compliance. Unincorporated Broward: Broward County Code Compliance. Other cities run their own desks.

Agent Filing Rules

We file under our name with the desk that owns the address. If that shop bounces a third-party complainant, that filing does not sit there.

How It Works

Address first. Hollywood or Broward County second. Then we file.
How This Works

"SNITCH cuts through red tape—handling your code complaints professionally, safely, and always in compliance with Florida law.
- Chaz Stevens, Chief Snitch

We file the real ones.
We reject the rest.

City code. Not a grudge.

Every submission is checked against the Hollywood code, including Chapter 157, Property Standards. Hearsay, neighbor wars, and junk filings do not go out. A false complaint is on the client.

Issues Hollywood highlights: vacation rental licensing and annual inspections, vacation rental noise-monitoring devices, vacant property registration, and noise ordinance.

FL SB 60

Why It Matters

SB 60 DID NOT END HOLLYWOOD COMPLAINTS

Florida law requires a name and address before most code investigations start. File direct with Hollywood Code Compliance and that name is public. SNITCH files as complainant of record.

Compliant filing. Our name on the paper.

See something. File it without becoming the file.

FAQS

Who handles code enforcement in Hollywood?

The City of Hollywood Code Compliance. Call (954) 921-3061. Online, use Hollywood Connect. Email: CodeCompliance@hollywoodfl.org.

Is my address Hollywood or Broward County?

Hollywood handles addresses inside its city limits. Unincorporated Broward goes to Broward County Code Compliance at 311 or (954) 831-4000. A Hollywood mailing address is not always inside the city.

How do I look up a Hollywood code violation?

Use Code Violation Search (Accela) on the City’s website.

How do I report a problem vacation rental in Hollywood?

Call the 24/7 vacation rental hotline at (954) 231-2375 or file online through the City's Host Compliance portal; licensed owners or managers are notified and given 30 minutes to resolve most issues. Licensed vacation rentals must also have a noise level detection device.

Can I report a code violation in Hollywood anonymously?

Not to the city. Hollywood says: “In compliance with Florida law, complainants will be required to provide their name and address when filing a complaint.” SNITCH is not anonymous either: we file under our own name as complainant of record, so yours stays off the complaint.

What happens if a violation is not fixed?

Unresolved Hollywood code cases go before a Special Magistrate. Special Magistrates, who are licensed attorneys, hear cases that fail to come into voluntary compliance and can impose fines and liens; dates and agendas are posted in the City's Agenda Center.

Is my name on the complaint? What if a desk will not take an agent filing? Our FAQs answer both.
