Sarasota code enforcement complaints
City desk. Not Sarasota County.
Inside city limits, Sarasota code complaints go to the City’s Code Compliance Division in the Development Services Department.
SNITCH is a private filing service, not the City. We file as complainant of record. Your name stays off the complaint.
Compliant with Florida SB 60.
Filed with Sarasota Code Compliance under our name.
Fear of Retaliation
Sarasota puts it this way: “Per Senate Bill 60, effective July 1, 2021, anonymous code compliance complaints may no longer be submitted and investigated.” File it yourself and that record is public under Chapter 119.
Who Handles It
Inside Sarasota: Sarasota Code Compliance. Unincorporated Sarasota: Sarasota County Code Enforcement (Planning and Development Services). Other cities run their own desks.
Agent Filing Rules
We file under our name with the desk that owns the address. If that shop bounces a third-party complainant, that filing does not sit there.

"SNITCH cuts through red tape—handling your code complaints professionally, safely, and always in compliance with Florida law.
- Chaz Stevens, Chief Snitch
We file the real ones.
We reject the rest.

City code. Not a grudge.
Every submission is checked against the Sarasota code, including Chapter 2, Article V, Division 5, Code Compliance System. Hearsay, neighbor wars, and junk filings do not go out. A false complaint is on the client.
Issues Sarasota highlights: vacation rental certificate of registration, RVs, boats and campers (no living in them), lot overgrowth, and foreclosed or abandoned property registration.
FL SB 60
Why It Matters
SB 60 DID NOT END SARASOTA COMPLAINTS
Florida law requires a name and address before most code investigations start. File direct with Sarasota Code Compliance and that name is public. SNITCH files as complainant of record.
Compliant filing. Our name on the paper.
See something. File it without becoming the file.

Not to the city. Sarasota says: “Per Senate Bill 60, effective July 1, 2021, anonymous code compliance complaints may no longer be submitted and investigated.” SNITCH is not anonymous either: we file under our own name as complainant of record, so yours stays off the complaint.
What happens if a violation is not fixed?
